There have been many exciting changes to the Birthplace Museum in the past few months. Among the changes visitors will notice are the freshly painted shutters and repaired and painted dormer. Grant funding was used for projects such as these that greatly improve and preserve the historic building. Among the exterior improvements that have been completed are repairs to all of the windows as well as the installation of interior UV panels to preserve the artifacts from damaging sunlight. Many interior improvements were also made including foundation and structural support work, repairs to doors, and installation of a new tile floor in the visitor bathroom. Also a new cornice molding cover was installed over one of the light fixtures, and a clear barrier was installed over the interior well to allow viewing with protection to visitors.

A new museum display case and historically accurate wallpaper were purchased for the Worcester room where rotating exhibits will be on display throughout the year.

The gardens have new additions of historically accurate plants for visitors to view as they approach the entrance to the museum. Members of the Leaders-In-Training (LIT) program at Clara Barton Camp have helped to maintain the garden which has greatly enhanced the appearance of the museum.
